A safe, nurturing environment

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” We have a heart for children at Second Reformed Church.

A fully staffed nursery for infants and toddlers is available just down the hall through the front doors of the sanctuary. We provide a clean and safe environment that is available from 9:15 till 10:45 a.m.

All nursery caregivers have been background checked and have received child-safety training.

Children's ministry: discovering Jesus

We welcome the privilege to partner with you in helping your child discover who Jesus is and how deeply God loves us.

We offer a clean and safe place where children can learn about Jesus, and how he wants us to treat one another. We provide a fun and joyful atmosphere for your child’s Christian development.

Youth ministries—building for the future

We know that only a close relationship with Jesus Christ can prepare our children for the future ahead.

In addition to our regular Sunday School classes, we offer the following youth ministries:

We have an awesome Middler Youth Group for grades 4 thru 8 that applies scriptural models for handling life experiences and developing socialization skills. Fun and recreation are added for good measure—all in a safe setting. Middlers meet on the first and third Sundays from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and at other times for special events. Note: This group is especially sensitive to and inclusive of those experiencing sensory issues, high anxiety, and/or general adjustment to the middle to high school years.
Our High School Youth Group meets every Monday evening with Young Life Portage from 7:37 p.m till 9 p.m. for fun, fellowship and faith. They also meet separately twice a month with details on meeting times and locations printed in the weekly bulletin. All youth grades 9 thru 12 are welcome!
